Kramer Holsters
Kramer Handgun Leather is owned and operated by
Greg Kramer out of Tacoma, WA. Kramer has an interesting company history as Greg first got interested in the
holster business by Gene DeSantis of DeSantis Holsters. As a matter of fact,
in 1978, Greg Kramer was the only full-time holster maker that DeSantis had on the payroll.

Eventually Kramer and DeSantis parted ways with Kramer moving to upstate Washington. In 1983
Kramer decided to get back into the holster business on a part-time basis and launched a line of holsters called
PRO Line Handgun Leather. If you keep your eyes open, there are still some of the older Kramer-Proline holsters
still floating around. In 1989, Kramer turned it into a full time business and eventually changed the name to
Kramer Handgun Leather due to a trademark dispute.
Greg Kramer is one of the few holster makers, both custom and production, who specializes in
horsehide. While Kramer can does offer a cowhide line as well, he built the business up with a reputation for
premier horsehide holsters. Why horsehide? Greg has always felt that, although horsehide was more difficult to work
with, it produced the highest quality and most durable holsters on the market.

While that point has been debated over the years, there's no denying that Kramer horsehide
holsters are some of the toughest on the market today. I have an MSP paddle that bought from Kramer in 1989, and it
has been through hell over the last 20 years. I could probably polish that holster up and sell it as "slightly
used" on any shooting forum any day of the week. His horsehide stuff is that tough.
In terms of holster designs, Greg came out with some really unique designs in the mid-1980's,
and those designs haven't changed that much over the years. Greg's approach to change has been simple: why change
what works? While nearly everything that Kramer produces works well, the Kramer #2 IWB, #3 IWB, and MSP Paddle are
probably the best sellers in his line.

During my plainclothes law enforcement career, I tried nearly every paddle holster on the
market, but nothing came close to the comfort and functionality of the MSP Paddle. The design of the #3 IWB has
been copied and cloned over the years since it was released, which is a testament to it's performance.
