Glock 26 Gun Holsters
Introduced to the market in 1995, The Glock 26 is considered a 'subcompact" handgun. Many
believe that the Glock 26 is just a shortened version of the Glock 19, but, in reality, Glock engineers had to
completely design the G-26 from the ground up using some of the G-19 specifications. Over the years, the Glock 26
has remained one of the most popular models Glock produces.

The immense popularity of the larger Glock 19 coupled with the growing concealed carry movement
prompted Glock to design a model smaller than the G-19 while retaining a relatively high capacity double stack
magazine. The 26 was born and has been a bestseller ever since.
Only chambered in 9mm, the Glock 26 standard mag carries 10 rounds. Glock also offers a larger
12 round magazine that features a +2 extension and additional pinky grip. As part of the engineering plan, the
Glock 26 will also accept the larger and longer magazines from a Glock 17 and Glock 19. In addition to the
standard Glock magazines, there are a number of companies that produce after market parts which
will convert the standard 10 round Glock mag to a higher capacity.
The G-26 performs well in the areas that it was designed for as it makes an excellent concealed
carry or off duty weapon. As opposed to a single stack magazine, the 10 round mag offers more than enough capacity
to deal with most problems that might arise. The minimal recoil of the 9mm makes it easy to handle with
little muzzle flip. The one area where the Glock 26 differs from any of the larger Glock handguns involves the
light rail as the G-26 doesn't feature one.

As the G-26 has been in production for nearly 15 years and has a large and loyal following, just
about every holster manufacturer in business makes a gun holster for it. By far and away, the most popular styles
of holsters for the Glock 26 include IWB holsters, however, the G-26 will also work in an ankle rig or simply worn
on the belt.
A few suggestions regarding holster selections for the G-26:
While the G-26 is small, it features a double stack magazine so it's basically just as wide as
any other Glock. This means that it's a little thicker compared to a single stack weapon like a Kahr or Colt. Take
that into account when holster shopping.
That same higher capacity capability also means that the G-26 weighs a little more than a
comparably sized single stack so make sure you go with a holster that securely mounts to the belt.
